North Somerset Council
North Somerset Council did not have any experience to carry out the procurement process for their school meals catering. AVL reviewed their existing operation, advised on catering support, and subsequently worked with their school meal adviser in the successful introduction of a new school meals contract.
This process included liaison with suppliers, ascertaining pupil and parent needs, and talking to heads and governors in relation to contract responsibilities.
The contract was successfully let to a new provider in September 2006.
